    Talent Announced for Americana Music Festival

Cross Canadian Ragweed, James McMurtry and former
Jayhawks members Gary Louris and Mark Olson are among
more than 50 acts scheduled to perform at the 2008
Americana Music Festival set for Sept. 17-20 in
Nashville. The festival coincides with the Americana
Music Conference and the Americana Honors and Awards
show. The festival will take place at five music
venues in and around downtown Nashville. Wristbands
providing admission to all clubs on all four nights
are available at the Americana Music Association’s
Web site. Among the others scheduled to perform are
Marcia Ball, John Cowan Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed,
the Duhks, Joe Ely, Will Hoge, Jason Isbell, Jason &
the Scorchers, Jim Lauderdale, Kathy Mattea, James
McMurtry, Tift Merritt, Buddy Miller, Bruce Robison,
the SteelDrivers and Kim Richey, Will Kimbrough &
Mando Saenz.

    Keith Urban Helps NFL Launch Season in New York

Keith Urban will perform in New York City’s Columbus
Circle during an NFL kickoff party. Several other
artists are expected to appear at the Sept. 4 concert
that coincides with the season opener between the
Washington Redskins and the New York Giants later
that night. While in New York, Urban will also perform
at this year’s Fashion Rocks concert scheduled for
Sept. 5 at Radio City Music Hall. The concert, set to
air Sept. 9 on CBS, will feature Beyoncé, Black Eyed
Peas, Chris Brown, Duffy, Justin Timberlake, Kid Rock,
Mariah Carey and Rihanna.
